Essential Oils for Children

Essential Oils For Children

This is just a generalized list. Please use discretion if using Essential Oils on someone with known allergies, sensitivities, disabilities, or diseases. As with herbs, supplements, or medications, adverse reactions can occur when using essential oils. If you or your child have allergies, sensitivities, or other health complications, please do your research and/or consult with your doctor or a clinical aromatherapist prior to using essential oils. Essential oils are extremely concentrated and should always be properly diluted.

[Click here for a dilution chart.]

*Do Not Use Essential Oils on infants younger than 3 months old as their skin is highly absorptive and their internal organs are not mature enough to properly process the massive amounts of chemical constituents found in essential oils.

**Essential Oils of Eucalyptus and Rosemary should not be used on or around children under 10 years of age because of the chemical constituent 1,8 cineole, which is found in these essential oils. This chemotype  can cool and slow the respiratory system of young children causing them respiratory distress.
