Aromatic Gels are a water-based application similar to that of the common salve, which is oil based. The primary ingredient is Aloe vera gelly, which is thicker than a regular aloe vera gel. Aloe vera gelly is special because, while it is primarily a water soluble substance, the gel does have some oil absorbing properties. Because of this, Aloe vera gelly is a great medium for diluting essential oils and small amounts of vegetable carrier oils.
Aloe vera gel(ly) has amazing skin healing properties by itself. It can truly stand on it's own two feet with no problem.
In general, gels are useful for:
- Anti-Inflammatory conditions
- Bug bites
- Hydrate the skin
- Muscle aches and pains
- Thin/fragile skin (elderly)
- Varicose veins
- Wound healing
All aromatic gels can start with a basic recipe and then be modified and customized for various sizes and purposes.
Basic Aromatic Gel Recipe (2 oz):
